Dolly & Buddie: Friends for Life
Hello there, we are Dolly and Buddie! We are the sweetest, most loving dogs you’ll ever meet and we are looking for a new home together. It’s tough to find ourselves in this situation, living at a homeless shelter. We had a loving and happy home at one time and we never imagined that it would end. But then our owner was no longer able to take care of us. We understand that sometimes these things happen, but it’s been a confusing and stressful time for us. Luckily, we have each other, and that’s all that really matters. We are the very best of friends!
I, Dolly, am a beautiful, 92 pound, purebred Coonhound. I’m a little on the chunky side, and I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds. Buddie tells me it will help me feel better and live longer. So I hope you might be willing to help me too, by exercising with me and feeding me a nutritious diet. Buddie is so handsome! He’s a 73 pound Lab/Great Pyrenees mix. We’re both already housebroken and we know how to use a doggie door, but please be patient with us when we get home with you. We’ve lived in one home our whole lives, so all the recent change has been stressful for us.
We love spending time together and we are a perfect match in every way. We get along just splendidly and miss each other when we are apart. We love to go for walks and it’s easy for one person to walk both of us together. We also like to run and play in the park here at Wayside, and splash around in the kiddie pool. After all the play, it’s fun to curl up next to our favorite people and soak up lots of affection and petting. We both will lean into you to show our love. Adopting two dogs has lots of advantages. For one, you already know we are best friends. And we can keep each other company when you are away. We also promise to give you double the doggie love every single day.
We’re looking for a home that is quiet and calm and peaceful. It might take us a little extra time to warm up than most dogs, but if you let us go at our own pace, once we bond with you, we will be your loyal companions for life. We need a home without kids under the age of at least 5 and we’d like to meet the whole family before we all go home together, please. Even though we had access to a fenced in backyard in our last home, we generally liked to stay indoors. Our owner said we were polite and well behaved in our home. In the yard, Buddie was able to climb the chain link fence, but when that was replaced with a privacy type of fence, he did just fine.
Buddie is more social and outgoing than I am and I rely on him for comfort and direction. He’s my big brother and I wouldn’t change him for the world! Because of him, I understand unconditional love and what it means to be part of a family. Now we want to share that with you! We think that when you meet us, you’ll agree we are two precious and amazing dogs that will make the perfect addition to our new family!
Love, Dolly and Buddie
